All companies participating in the CSA can be considered for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook 2024, provided they submit the 2023 CSA by the eligibility deadline explained below.
The latest participation window for companies to be considered for inclusion in The Sustainability Yearbook is August-September, with a latest submission date of October 13th (provided that a relevant deadline extension was available and booked by the company ahead of time in the CSA portal). The target date for the release of S&P Global ESG Scores for these companies is December 15th. The eligible universe of companies for potential selection in The Sustainability Yearbook 2024 is: all companies that have received an S&P Global ESG Score by December 15th. The final ESG Scores (including any corrected scores) used for determining a company’s inclusion in the Yearbook and the related distinction levels is Jan 19th, 2024. Any ESG score correction after Jan 19th, if applicable, will not be considered for initial Yearbook selection.
Companies that submit their 2023 CSA after October 13th, or that pick September-October or later, as a participation window will not be considered for The Sustainability Yearbook 2024.
Impact of CSA submission date on companies eligible for DJSI
ESG Scores calculated from the CSA are a key component to select companies into the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices and other S&P ESG indices. Please check which index, if any, your company is eligible for on the invited companies look up page. The decision to select companies into ESG indices is made by S&P Global Dow Jones Indices and follows the DJSI Methodology.
Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) eligible companies
For companies that submit their 2023 CSA on or before September 15th the ESG Research team at S&P Global Sustainable1 will submit an ESG Score based on the company’s active participation in the CSA to S&P Dow Jones Indices for the consideration of the company’s inclusion in any Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The latest Participation Window for companies to meet this deadline is July-August 2023, with the latest submission date of September 15th (provided that a relevant deadline extension was available and booked by the company ahead of time in the CSA portal). The target score release date for the July-August window is Nov 17th.
For companies that submit their 2023 CSA after September 15th the ESG Research team at S&P Global Sustainable 1 will submit an ESG Score based solely on the company’s publicly available information to S&P Dow Jones Indices for the consideration of the company’s inclusion in any Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
In both cases final ESG Scores will be provided to S&P Dow Jones Indices on Nov 17th.
