Use this search tool to identify whether your company has been invited to participate in this year's assessment. Learn more about the different groups of invited companies below.

In 2023, S&P Global will invite over 13,000 companies to participate in the CSA.

This includes:
Companies will be invited in three groups, starting with those eligible for any Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The list of invited companies will be updated with the other groups in the coming weeks.

  • All companies that participated in the 2022 CSA.
  • Companies invited as part of the eligible universe of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) , as well as numerous other S&P ESG indices.
  • Companies whose sustainability performance is considered to be of interest to the broader investment community.

Companies that are invited but decide not to participate may be assessed by S&P Global based on publicly available information, and the resulting ESG Scores and data may be shared via S&P Global platforms. Participation in the CSA is not a prerequisite for eligibility in the DJSI or other S&P ESG Indices.

Official invitations will be sent out between February and June. Companies may also check their invitation status using the search tool above, and visit the CSA portal to book their assessment window at any time.

The 2023 CSA questionnaire opens for all companies on April 4th. New for this year, companies are able to select an assessment window that best meets individual reporting schedules. Log in to the CSA Portal to reserve a slot.

Participation without invitation

Any company interested in the CSA that agrees to make their resulting ESG Score public on S&P Global platforms will be assessed free of charge. Please contact csa@spglobal.com for more information.

DJSI Family

Eligibility to be included in any Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) is based on the DJSI Methodology. The search tool above allows companies to look up information on which DJSI it is invited for.

A summary of the eligibility criteria is provided below.

DJSI World
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index tracks the performance of the top 10% of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI North America
The Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index tracks the performance of the top 20% of the 600 largest Canadian and United States companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI Europe
The Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index tracks the performance of the top 20% of the 600 largest European companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI Asia Pacific
The Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index tracks the performance of the top 20% of the 600 largest Australian, Hong Kong, Japanese, Korean, New Zealand and Singaporean companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI Emerging Markets
The Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index tracks the performance of the top 10% of the 800 largest Emerging Markets companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI MILA
The index tracks the performance of the top 30% of Chilean, Colombian, Mexican and Peruvian listed companies in the S&P MILA Pacific Alliance Composite that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI Korea
The Dow Jones Sustainability Korea Index is composed of South Korean sustainability leaders as identified by SAM through the annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). The index represents the top 30% of the largest 200 South Korean companies in the S&P Global Broad Market IndexSM based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria. The index is based on a cooperation of RobecoSAM, S&P Dow Jones Indices, and the Korea Productivity Center (KPC), the agency tasked to increase productivity within the Korean industry.

DJSI Australia
The Dow Jones Sustainability Australia Index tracks the performance of the top 30% of the 200 listed Australian companies in the S&P/ASX 200 that lead the field in terms of sustainability.

DJSI Chile
The Dow Jones Sustainability Chile Index tracks the performance of the top 40% of the 40 listed Chilean companies in the Bolsa de Santiago’s IPSA Index that lead the field in terms of sustainability.


S&P ESG Indices Family

Companies that are not invited for consideration in any DJSI, but are included in any of the following S&P Dow Jones indices as of Dec 31st 2022, are also invited to participate in the CSA.

S&P Dow Jones Indices uses CSA results to create the S&P DJI ESG scores and in turn uses these scores to select constituents for the S&P ESG Index series. Participation in the CSA is not a prerequisite for eligibility in the DJSI or other S&P ESG Indices. Learn more about the S&P ESG Index series and the selection process.

S&P Global 1200
The index captures approximately 70% of global market capitalization, it is constructed as a composite of 7 headline indices, many of which are accepted leaders in their regions. These include the S&P 500® (US), S&P Europe 350, S&P TOPIX 150 (Japan), S&P/TSX 60 (Canada), S&P/ASX All Australian 50, S&P Asia 50 and S&P Latin America 40.

S&P 500
The S&P 500® is widely regarded as the best single gauge of large-cap U.S. equities. According to our Annual Survey of Assets, an estimated USD 15.6 trillion is indexed or benchmarked to the index, with indexed assets comprising approximately USD 7.1 trillion of this total (as of Dec. 31, 2021). The index includes 500 leading companies and covers approximately 80% of available market capitalization.

S&P Global LargeMidCap
Combining the S&P Global LargeCap and S&P Global MidCap indices, the S&P Global LargeMidCap comprises the stocks representing the top 85% of float-adjusted market cap in each developed and emerging country.

S&P Japan 500
The index constituents are drawn from eligible companies listed on the Tokyo, Osaka, or JASDAQ exchanges. Constituents represent the large, mid and smallcap components of the Japanese equity markets.

S&P MidCap 400®
The index is designed to measure the performance of 400 mid-sized US companies.

S&P SmallCap 600®
The S&P SmallCap 600® seeks to measure the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity market. The index is designed to track companies that meet specific inclusion criteria to ensure that they are liquid and financially viable.

S&P/TSX Composite
The index is the headline index for the Canadian equity market. It is the broadest in the S&P/TSX family and is the basis for multiple sub-indices.

S&P Brazil BMI
The index is a comprehensive benchmark that defines and measures the investable universe of publicly traded large-, mid-, and small-cap companies domiciled in Brazil, but are legally available to foreign investors.

S&P BSE 100
The index is designed to measure the performance of the 100 largest and most liquid Indian companies within the S&P BSE LargeMidCap.

S&P Developed Ex-U.S. & Korea LargeMidCap
The index is designed to measure the performance of large- and mid-cap securities in developed markets, excluding the U.S. and Korea.

S&P/ASX 300
The index measures up to 300 of Australia’s largest securities by float-adjusted market capitalization. It covers the large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap components of the S&P/ASX Index Series.

S&P/NZX 50
The index is designed to measure the performance of the 50 largest, eligible stocks listed on the Main Board (NZSX) of the NZX by float-adjusted market capitalization. The index is float-adjusted, covering approximately 90% of New Zealand equity market capitalization.

S&P/BMV Total Mexico
The S&P/BMV Total Mexico Index is designed to serve as a broad benchmark for the Mexican equities market. The index is designed to measure the performance of Mexico-domiciled stocks, including real estate investment trusts (Fideicomiso de Inversión en Bienes Raíces or FIBRAS) and mortgage trusts, that are listed on the BMV and meet certain size and liquidity criteria.

JPX/S&P CAPEX & Human Capital Index
The JPX/S&P CAPEX & Human Capital Index is designed to measure the performance of Japanese companies that are proactively making investments in physical and human capital.
