Platts launches UAE I-REC assessments Nov. 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched the UAE international renewable energy certificate price assessments, effective Nov. 2, 2026.

The daily I-REC price assessments reflect spot deliveries of certificates, representing a minimum 1 gigawatt-hour, for prior-year and current-year vintages, rolling to the next vintages at the start of each calendar year.

This follows a proposal note published Sept. 21 and a decision note Oct. 5

The launch is in response to market feedback calling for greater price transparency and more granularity in the UAE I-REC market. The assessments also complement Platts existing offerings in the Middle East region.

Platts has launched the following assessments:

The assessments reflect the following specifications:

• Volume: Minimum 1 GWh
• Vintage: Current-year and Previous-year, rolling on Jan. 1
• Technology: Solar
• Pricing unit: $/megawatt-hour
• Conversion unit: €/MWh
• Frequency: Daily
• Timestamp: 1630 London close
• Holiday Calendar: UK holiday calendar

These assessments are published in the REC Daily and European Power Daily, as well as fixed pages CLE2213, ETA2213 and EVA2213.
