Platts to launch UAE I-REC assessment, Nov. 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch United Arab Emirates international renewable energy certificate price assessments, effective Nov. 2, 2026.

The daily I-REC price assessment will reflect spot deliveries of certificates, representing a minimum volume of 1 GWh, for prior-year and current-year vintages, rolling to the next vintages at the start of each calendar year.

Platts initially proposed to launch these assessments in a subscriber note published Sept. 21 .

The launch is in response to market feedback calling for greater price transparency and more granularity in the UAE I-REC market. The assessments will also complement Platts' existing offerings in the Middle East region.
