Platts proposes to launch UAE I-REC assessment Nov. 2

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to launch UAE international renewable energy certificate price assessments, effective Nov. 2, 2026.

The proposed daily I-REC price assessment would reflect spot deliveries of certificates, representing a minimum of 1 gigawatt-hour, for prior-year and current-year vintages, rolling to the next vintages at the start of each calendar year.

The proposal is in response to market feedback calling for greater price transparency and more granularity in the UAE I-REC market. The assessments will also complement Platts' existing offerings in the Middle East region.
