Platts to change frequency of CFR Southeast Asia MMA and Asian PMMA spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will change the frequency of its existing methyl methacrylate CFR Southeast Asia and Asian polymethyl methacrylate spot assessments to weekly, effective Sept. 29.

Platts initially proposed the change on July 3 in a subscriber note available here .

Platts is proceeding with the changes to better reflect the market dynamics and typical trading behaviors involving the respective products and in response to market feedback.

The frequency change will also align the existing MMA/PMMA assessment frequencies with the publication pattern in other regions.

Under the frequency change, the CFR Southeast Asia MMA price and Asian PMMA prices will be databased every Tuesday and follow the Singapore publication calendar.

Furthermore, Platts will discontinue related weekly averages, effective Sept. 30.

The change in frequency of spot assessments for Asian MMA and PMMA follows a recent announcement by Platts to discontinue its existing MMA CFR China daily marker price, effective Sept. 30.
