Platts to launch new FOB China MMA price assessment effective Aug 4

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch a new weekly FOB China methyl methacrylate (MMA) assessment, effective Aug. 4.

The new assessment will complement Platts' existing coverage of global MMA markets and reflect China's increasing export presence in the region.

Platts first proposed launching the new assessment in a subscriber note published June 18, 2026.

The new assessment will reflect the following parameters and terms:

Incoterm and location: FOB China

Basis ports: Zhangjiagang and Jiangyin

Cargo size: Minimum 1,000-2,000 mt

Laycan: Loading 15-30 days forward from the day of publication

UoM: US dollar/mt

Credit terms: L/C 30 days

Specifications: Monomer content of 99.8% or more

Pricing information deviating from the standard specifications and terms listed may be normalized to the standard specifications for assessment purposes.

The new weekly assessment will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time on Tuesday and follow the Singapore publishing schedule.

The assessment will be published alongside Platts existing MMA assessments in Polymerscan, Asian Petrochemicalscan, Solventswire, PCA190, PCA 460, Platts database, and on S&P Global Energy Core.

Simultaneously, Platts will discontinue its existing CFR China daily marker price effective Sept. 30. The subscriber note for the discontinuation can be found here.
