Platts proposes frequency change for CFR Southeast Asia MMA and Asian PMMA spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to change the frequency of its existing methyl methacrylate FR Southeast Asia and Asian poly methyl methacrylate spot assessments to weekly, effective Sept. 29, 2026.

Platts is proposing the changes to better reflect the market dynamics and typical trading behaviors involving the respective products and in response to market feedback. The proposed change would also align the existing MMA/PMMA assessment frequencies with the publication pattern in other regions.

Under the proposal, the CFR Southeast Asia MMA price and Asian PMMA prices would be databased every Tuesday and follow the Singapore publication calendar.

As part of this proposal, Platts would discontinue related weekly averages, effective Sept. 30, 2026.

The change in frequency of spot assessments for Asian MMA and PMMA follows a recent proposal by Platts to discontinue its existing MMA CFR China daily marker price, effective Sept. 30. The proposal note for the discontinuation can be found here: https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/061826-platts-proposes-to-discontinue-mma-cfr-china-daily-price-assessment-effective-sept-30

Platts also proposed to launch a weekly MMA FOB China marker effective Aug. 4, 2026, which is published here: https://www.spglobal.com/energy/en/pricing-benchmarks/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/061826-platts-proposes-new-fob-china-mma-price-assessment-effective-aug-4
