Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a new FOB Rotterdam methanol price assessment to reflect loading during the third month from the date of publication (M3), effective June 22, 2026.
The assessment's specifications and terms mirror those of the preexisting M1 and M2 assessments. The M3 assessment rolls to the next month, five working days prior to the end of the publishing month.

The new M3 assessment was first proposed May 11 in a subscriber note available here. The communication to launch the new M3 assessment was published in a subscriber note May 26 available here.
The assessment takes into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm London time each day, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.
The M3 assessment is published alongside existing European methanol assessments on S&P Global Energy Core, in Europe & Americas Petrochemicalscan, in Solventswire and on Petrochemical Alert fixed pages PC1160.
