Platts launches phenol DDP NWE contract price assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched new phenol contract price assessments expressed as a premium over benzene and an outright value, effective April 21, 2026.

The assessments complement Platts existing weekly phenol spot assessments, databased under the codes APHEA00, HPAGF00, and PHAGG00.

The premium represents the quarterly adder, bilaterally negotiated by sellers and medium-sized buyers, and is updated at the start of the settlement quarter once Platts has obtained sufficient information under code NPHEN04.

The outright value is databased on a monthly basis under code NPHEM04 and calculated as a sum of the quarterly adder and the relevant month's benzene contract price (AAKJB00).

The assessments reflect the following specifications:

Description Phenol
Product specifications Minimum purity of 99.9% and maximum water content of 0.08%
Basis and location DDP NWE
Delivery method Truck
Contract size 6,000-10,000 metric tons/year
Laycan Current quarter/current month
Currency/UoM Euro/metric ton
