Platts launches a weekly US natural rubber assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a new weekly US natural rubber assessment, effective Dec. 20.

The assessment was first proposed in a note published Nov. 6, available here. A decision note was published on Nov. 20, available here.

Platts assesses technically specified rubber 20 (TSR 20) that includes Standard Malaysia Rubber(SMR 20), Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR 20), Standard Thai Rubber (STR 20)and Standard Vietnam Rubber (SVR 20).

Maximum dirt content: 0.16-0.2% wt
Maximum ash content: 0.8 - 1% wt
Maximum nitrogen content: 0.6% wt
