Platts proposes to launch a weekly US Natural Rubber assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is proposing to launch a new weekly US Natural Rubber assessment, effective Dec. 20.

Details of the proposed Natural Rubber assessment are as follows:

Product specifications:

Platts would assess technically specified rubber 20 (TSR 20) that includes Standard Malaysia Rubber (SMR 20), Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR 20), Standard Thai Rubber (STR 20) and Standard Vietnam Rubber (SVR 20).

Maximum dirt content: 0.16-0.2% wt
Maximum ash content: 0.8-1% wt
Maximum nitrogen content: 0.6% wt
Basis: CFR US East Coast
Currency: $/mt
Quantity: Minimum 20 mt
Timing: 30-60 days forward delivery

Market information for product with other specifications and non-standard terms may be considered for the assessment and may be subject to normalization to the standard specifications and terms.

All market information reported to Platts may be considered, including firm bids and offers, trades, and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process up to the close of the Platts Market on Close assessment process at 1:30 p.m. CT Friday.
