Platts will launch weekly US natural rubber assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will launch a weekly US natural rubber assessment, effective Dec. 20.

The assessment will complement Platts plans to expand on coverage of rubbers markets.

Platts originally proposed this assessment in a subscriber note published on October 25, available here.

Details of the proposed Natural Rubber assessment are as follows:

Product specifications: Platts will assess technically specified rubber 20 (TSR 20) that includes Standard Malaysia Rubber (SMR 20), Standard Indonesian Rubber(SIR 20), Standard Thai Rubber (STR 20) and Standard Vietnam Rubber (SVR 20).

Maximum dirt content: 0.16-0.2%wt
Maximum ash content: 0.8-1%wt
Maximum nitrogen content: 0.6%wt
Basis: CFR US East Coast
Currency: $/mt
Quantity: Minimum 20 mt
Timing: 30-60 days forward delivery
