Platts updates three Americas urea ammonium nitrate price assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated the specifications of three Americas urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) price assessments, effective Oct. 9, 2025.
The updates include the introduction of a new "close" value , and refining and amending specifications such as quality, quantity, basis and location, for the assessments to better reflect market activity.
The revised specifications for the assessments read as follows:

The low and high elements of each assessment are standardized to $1/st above and below the assessed close value.
These assessments are published in the Fertecon US Fertilizer Report and are also available on Platts Connect.
Platts originally proposed to update the methodology for the three Americas Urea Ammonium Nitrate price assessments on Aug. 27 in a subscriber note available here. The decision was announced Sept. 11 in a note published here.
