Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched daily white recycled polystyrene pellet spot price assessments, effective March 26.
The launch follows a proposal published Jan. 28 and the subsequent decision published Feb. 25.
Details of the assessments are as follows:

Standard spot cargo size: Minimum 20-mt lots
Product Specifications: R-PS pellets are post-consumer, non-odorless, non-food-grade, with a melt flow index of 4.0-8.0 g/10 minutes tested at 200 degrees Celsius, with a density of 1.04-1.07 g/cm3. Pellets should have at least 30% HIPS and do not include any EPS.
Colour: White pellets

Pricing information for the material with specifications and terms deviating from the above-mentioned parameters may be normalized accordingly.
The assessments can be found against the following symbols:

The assessments reflect the spot value of recycled polystyrene at 4:30 pm London time. The assessments follow the London publication schedule.
The weekly average is published every Wednesday. A weekly commentary and rationale will also be published on a Wednesday. The assessments are published in Sustainable Polymerscan, on Platts Connect and in the Platts price point database.
