Platts launches weekly FOB China polyols spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched a weekly FOB China polyols spot assessment, effective Sept. 4, 2026.

The launch was initially proposed in a note here, and confirmed in a subsequent note published here.

The new assessment complements Platts' existing coverage of global polyols markets and reflects China's increasing polyols exports to key countries such as Vietnam, Turkey, India and Indonesia.

Details of the assessment are as follows:

Basis and location ports FOB China (Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo)
Cargo size 100-500 mt
Credit terms L/C 30 days

Product specifications

Molecular weight of 3,000-3,500, Viscosity 400-700mpa,

1.01-1.10g/cm³

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms deviating from the above specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard for assessment purposes.

The weekly assessment takes into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time on Friday and follows the Singapore publishing schedule.

The assessment is published alongside Platts' existing polyols assessments in Asian Petrochemicalscan, Platts database and on S&P Global Energy Core, under the following symbols and description:
