Platts to launch weekly FOB China polyols spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch a weekly FOB China polyols spot assessment, effective Sept. 4, 2026.

The new assessment will complement Platts existing coverage of the global polyols markets and reflect China's increasing polyols exports to countries such as Vietnam, Turkey, India and Indonesia.

Details of the new assessments are as follows:

Product Conventional slabstock polyols
Laycan Loading 30-45 days forward from the date of publication
Basis and location ports FOB China (Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo)
Cargo size 100-500 mt
Credit terms L/C 30 days
UOM USD/mt
Product specifications Molecular weight of 3,000-3,500, Viscosity 400-700 mpa, 1.01-1.10 g/cm³

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms deviating from the above specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard for assessment purposes.

The weekly assessment will take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4:30 pm Singapore time on Friday and will follow the Singapore publishing schedule.

The new assessment will be published alongside Platts existing polyols assessments in Asian Petrochemicalscan, Platts database and on S&P Global Energy Core.
