Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, is proposing to launch a weekly FOB China polyols spot assessment, effective Sept. 4, 2026.
The proposed assessment would complement the existing coverage of global polyols markets by Platts and reflect China's increasing polyols exports to key countries such as Vietnam, Turkey, India and Indonesia.
Details of the proposed assessments are as follows:
| Product | Conventional slabstock polyols |
| Laycan | Loading 30-45 days forward from the date of publication |
| Basis and location ports | FOB China (Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo) |
| Cargo size | 100-500 mt |
| Credit terms | L/C 30 days |
| UOM | USD/mt |
| Quality specifications | Molecular weight of 3,000-3,500, Viscosity 400-700mpa, 1.01-1.10g/cm³ |
Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms deviating from the above specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard for assessment purposes.
The weekly assessment would take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process at 4.30 pm Singapore time on Friday and follow the Singapore publishing schedule.
The proposed assessment would be published alongside Platts existing polyols assessments in Asian Petrochemicalscan, Platts database and on S&P Global Energy Core.
