July 20, 2026
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will launch two additional non-biomass UK Renewable Guarantees of Origin price assessments, effective Aug. 24, 2026.
Platts initially proposed this launch via a subscriber note published July 3.
This is in response to market feedback calling for greater price transparency on later Compliance Periods (CPs) for UK REGOs. The assessments will complement Platts' existing offerings in the UK REGOs market, including non-bio and bio current CP to CP02 assessments.
The assessments will reflect the non-biomass UK REGOs for CP03 and CP04.
Platts rolls the compliance period reflected in its UK REGO assessments July 2 to reflect the trading of REGOs until they are counted by Ofgem for the Fuel Mix Disclosure -- the main use of these certificates.
From Aug. 24, 2026, to July 1, 2027, Platts will assess the following compliance periods:
Platts will launch the following assessments:
| Assessment name (s) | Symbol |
| Non-Bio CP 03 | EEGYA00 |
| Non-Bio CP 04 | EEGYB00 |
The assessments will have the following specifications:
These daily assessments will be published in the REC Daily and European Power Daily.
