Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will change the delivery laycan of its CFR India Polyvinyl Chloride Suspension grade assessment effective May 6, 2026, to reflect cargoes delivered 25-50 days forward from the day of publication.
The new assessment was first proposed and published in a note on March 20 here:
Currently, the assessment reflects deliveries 15-30 days forward.
The change aims to align the assessment delivery laycan with a typical practice in the CFR India spot market.
Platts has observed that CFR India PVC cargoes typically trade for loading the following month, with a typical transit time of 13-30 days from Korea, Thailand, Japan, China, and Indonesia.
For example, for a trade done on March 20, the shipment would be in the first half of April, that is, April 1-15, and the estimated delivery time at Indian ports would be between April 13 and May 10, depending on the origin.
The affected assessment is databased under the AAUWU00 code and is published in Asia Petrochemicalscan, Polymerscan, Platts Core, and on the Petrochemical Alert (PCA) pages 0262, 3021, 0530.
