Platts proposes to change Polyvinyl Chloride Suspension grade CFR India laycan

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, proposes to change the delivery laycan of its CFR India Polyvinyl Chloride Suspension grade assessment effective May 6, 2026.

Platts proposes to change the delivery laycan for the CFR India Polyvinyl chloride to reflect cargoes delivered 25-50 days forward from the day of publication.

Currently, the assessment reflects deliveries 15-30 days forward.

The proposal aims to align the assessment delivery laycan with a typical practice in the CFR India spot market.

Platts has observed that CFR India PVC cargoes typically trade for loading the following month, with a typical transit time of 13-30 days from Korea, Thailand, Japan, China, Indonesia.

For example, for a trade done on March 20, the shipment would be in the first half of April, that is, April 1-15, and the estimated delivery time at Indian ports would be between April 13 and May 10, depending on the origin.

The symbol affected would be AAUWU00

The proposal refers to the assessments that are published in Asia Petrochemicalscan, Polymerscan, Platts Core, and on the Petrochemical Alert (PCA) pages 0262, 3021, 0530
