Platts launches weekly Turkish PET, recycled PET light blue flake spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has launched weekly ex-works Turkey spot assessments for both virgin polyethylene terephthalate and recycled PET light blue flakes, effective April 1.

Platts confirmed the Turkish PET and R-PET light blue flake assessments in a subscriber note on Feb. 25, following an earlier subscriber note on Feb. 3.

These assessments are the first Turkish PET and R-PET assessments to be published by Platts and complement existing global PET and R-PET Platts assessments.

The new ex-works Turkey assessments take into consideration price information gathered up to the close of the assessment process each Wednesday at 4:30 pm London time.

The new assessments are databased under the following symbols and descriptions:

Description Laycan Symbol MAvg
PET Bottle Grade EXW Turkey $/mt Weekly Three to 15 days forward PBGET04 PBGET03
Recycled-PET Light Blue Flakes EXW Turkey $/mt Weekly Three to 15 days forward PBLET04 PBLET03

Pricing information with terms, locations and specifications different from the above standard may be considered for assessment purposes, subject to normalization.

These assessments appear on S&P Global Energy Core, Platts Market Center, and in Polymerscan and Sustainable Polymerscan.
