Platts discontinues 2025 German THG double-counting assessments

Platts, a part of S&P Global Energy, has discontinued the current year and previous year (2025), THG double-counting assessments, effective Jan. 2, 2026.

This follows a decision published Dec. 10 and a proposal published July 22.

Germany's RED III transposition draft, published on June 19, proposed ending double-counting incentives on biofuels derived from advanced feedstocks from Jan. 1, 2026. Following the Bundeskabinett's approval of the latest RED III draft on Dec. 10 and announcement that the policy will enter into force on Jan. 1, implemented retroactively later in the year, Platts has discontinued the current and previous year, or 2025, THG double-counting assessments.
