Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has suspended the 2026 or year-ahead Germany THG double-counting assessments, effective Nov. 3, 2025.
Germany's RED III transposition draft, published on June 19, proposed ending double-counting incentives on biofuels derived from advanced feedstocks. Market expectations suggested that the legislation is set to take effect in January 2026.
Despite the lack of confirmation of the timeline and implementation of RED III in Germany, Platts will suspend the year-ahead or 2026 THG double-counting assessments, pending further feedback and information on the provisions and effective date from German authorities.
Platts stated its intention to suspend the THG double-counting assessments Oct. 10, following a proposal to discontinue the assessments July 22.
The following assessments have been suspended effective Nov. 3:
| Assessment | Symbol |
| Germany THG-Advanced Double Counting (Next Year) | GADCY03 |
| Germany THG-Advanced Double Counting (Next Year) MAvg | GADCY13 |
| Germany THG-Advanced Double Counting (2026) | GA22026 |
Further changes to these assessments and other Germany THG-Advanced Double Counting assessments (Current and Previous Year) will be communicated by Platts through the publication of additional subscriber notes.
