Platts to suspend a number of its German THG double-counting assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will suspend some of its Germany THG double-counting assessments effective Nov. 3, 2025.

This decision follows a proposal published July 22 to discontinue the assessments from Nov. 3.

Germany's RED III transposition draft on June 19 proposed ending double-counting incentives on biofuels derived from advanced feedstocks. Market expectation had indicated the legislation would come into effect in January 2026.

However, due to a lack of clarity on the implementation of RED III in Germany, Platts will suspend some of its THG double-counting assessments, pending further feedback and information on the provisions and effective date from German authorities.

Further changes to these assessments and Platts other Germany THG-Advanced Double Counting assessments (Current and Previous Year) will be communicated by Platts through the publication of additional subscriber notes.

The following assessments will be suspended from Nov. 3:
