Platts launches daily Middle Eastern polyethylene spot assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched new daily spot assessments for low density polyethylene and high density PE blowmolding grade for the Middle Eastern market, effective Nov. 1, 2024.

The new assessments provide further transparency to the Middle Eastern polyethylene market, while complementing Platts' existing suite of FOB Saudi Arabia netback values and existing Middle East PP raffia assessments.

A proposal to assess these markets was originally published on Aug. 21 and can be found here. The subsequent decision to assess these markets was published Sept. 12 and can be found here.

The assessments reflect spot values on a daily basis at 11:30 London time and will follow the London publishing calendar. A weekly commentary and assessment rationale are published on Wednesdays and will appear in Polymerscan and on Platts Connect.
