Platts amends publication schedule, forex calculations for monthly ferrous assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has changed the publication schedule and forex calculations for its monthly frequency EMEA ferrous metals assessments, effective November 2024.

From November 2024 assessments onwards, monthly EMEA ferrous metals assessments will be published on the 10th of each month or the next working day, if the 10th falls on a weekend or a holiday, in order to provide a consistent publication calendar.

For the remainder of 2024 and 2025, the publication schedule for monthly EMEA ferrous metals assessments is as follows:

Platts has also amended the formula to calculate the US dollar conversion for a number of the monthly frequency assessments to better account for exchange rate fluctuations between the US dollar and the euro, effective November 2024.

The amended formula uses the exchange rate from the day of assessment, revised from the previous formula which applied a EUR:USD rate from one day prior to the 10th of the month.

The change affects the following US dollar conversion symbols:
