SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts proposes organic chloride limit for European naphtha specification

S&P Global Platts proposes the addition of an organic chloride limit of maximum 3 ppm in the specification reflected in its CIF NWE naphtha cargo assessment (Code: PAAAL00), with effect from January 2, 2020.

In light of evolving market dynamics, Platts proposes the addition of a 3 ppm maximum limit for organic chlorides concentration in the specification reflected in its CIF NWE Naphtha assessment. The total chloride limit would remain unchanged at 10 ppm.

Throughout a consultation phase opened August 1, 2019, Platts has received feedback from market participants as well as observed prevalent traded naphtha specifications in Northwest Europe to ensure it continues to reflect the prevalent merchantable specification in the region.

The subscriber note announcing the consultation phase can be reached at: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/080119-platts-opens-consultation-on-european-naphtha-specification.
