SUBSCRIBER NOTE: Platts opens consultation on European naphtha specification

S&P Global Platts is opening a formal consultation regarding possible methodology changes to the specification reflected in its CIF NWE naphtha cargo assessment (Code: PAAAL00).

In light of evolving market dynamics, Platts is consulting on specification parameters of organic chloride. Specifically, Platts is seeking feedback on a potential change of the organic chloride limit reflected in the quality assessed from a maximum of 10ppm to a maximum of 3ppm. Platts welcomes feedback from market participants to ensure it continues to reflect the prevalent merchantable specification in the region.

The specification currently reflected in the assessment can be found in the European and African Refined Oil Products Methodology and Specification Guide, reachable at: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/plattscontent/_assets/_files/en/our-methodolo gy/methodology-specifications/europe-africa-refined-products-methodology.pdf

Throughout this consultation, Platts also seeks feedback on the timing of any potential methodology change that may emanate from the consultation phase.

Please send any feedback by September 13, 2019 to europe_products@spglobal.com with a cc to pricegroup@spglobal.com
