Platts launches weekly orthoxylene FOB China assessment

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a weekly spot assessment for Asian orthoxylene FOB China (ORFCW04), in light of increasing export volumes from China amid growing capacity, effective Oct. 17.

The assessment reflects spot market information up to the close of the assessment window at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) on Friday. It is published in $/mt and follows the Singapore publishing schedule.

The new assessment reflects the product with the following parameters:

Cargo size: 2,000-3,000 mt

Quality specifications: Minimum purity of 98%; maximum non-aromatic content of 0.3%

Timing: Loading 20-40 days forward from the date of publication

Location basis: FOB China: Dalian, Nanjing, Jingjiang, Yangpu, Gulei. Loading from other Chinese ports may be normalized to the par ports in the assessment.

Credit terms: L/C 30 days

Pricing information for material with other specifications and terms may be normalized to the proposed standard.
