Platts discontinues several US Renewable Energy Certificates assessments Oct. 13
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has discontinued several US Renewable Energy Certificates price assessments, effective Oct. 13, 2025.
This follows a proposal note published on July 7, and a decision note published on Aug. 4. The discontinuation aims to simplify Platts' portfolio of REC assessments. The discontinuation includes the mirror symbols, abatement values and emission adjusted RECs related to the base REC price assessments. The Platts REC assessments for front-half or back-half of a calendar year; RECs for Any Technologies; CRS-listed, or Green-e certified/eligible, where appropriate, will not be impacted by the change. The discontinued assessments can be found in the appendix here .

In its decision, Platts chose not to move forward with the discontinuation of the Texas Next Year Vintage assessments, in order to continue assessing these contracts and bring transparency to the market. Platts also reversed its decision to discontinue its Ohio assessments given market feedback, recent changes to market dynamics and regulatory updates.
The discontinued assessments appeared in the fixed pages CLE3200, CLE3202, PEA0750, PEA0751, EVA3005, EVA3007, AGP2750 and AGP2751, as well as REC Daily and Megawatt Daily.
