Platts to continue publication of several Ohio REC assessments, reverses Oct. 13 discontinuation

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will continue to publish its Ohio non-solar and solar Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) price assessments, reversing a previous decision to discontinue them effective Oct. 13, 2025.

Platts previously said it would discontinue publication of these price assessments, alongside several other US REC price assessments, in a note published Aug. 4 that is linked below. Instead, Platts will now continue to assess its US Ohio REC assessments, and the related assessments, given market feedback, recent changes to market dynamics and regulatory updates.

No other assessments under the discontinuation, which will be effective Oct. 13, are impacted by this reversal. The original list of assessments to be discontinued can be found here, without the assessments for Ohio, which will continue to be published and can be found below:
