Following a period of consultation, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has moved its weekly US and European magnesium assessments to Wednesday publication from Thursday, effective Oct. 5, 2022.
The change synchronizes the Platts weekly US and European assessments for magnesium to the same day each week.
Platts has also moved the timestamp for the European magnesium assessment to 4:30 pm London time to better align with European trading hours.
The changes were initially proposed August 12 in a subscriber note available here.
The decision to implement the proposed changes was communicated in a subscriber note published Sept. 2.
Assessments affected are as follows:
Magnesium Dealer Import, delivered US (MMAHQ00)
Magnesium Spot Western Production, delivered US (MMAHM00)
Magnesium Die Cast Alloy Transaction, delivered US (MMAHR00)
Magnesium European Free Market, IW Rotterdam (MMAIZ00)
The assessments are published in Platts Metals Daily, Platts Metals Week Supplement and Platts Metals Alert on fixed page PMA 0368, and in the Platts database under the above-mentioned codes.
