Platts proposes publication day change for global magnesium assessments

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to move its weekly US and European magnesium assessments to Wednesday publication from Thursday.

The change would synchronize Platts weekly US and European assessments for magnesium, effective Oct. 5, 2022, to Wednesdays each week. Platts is also proposing to move the timestamp for the European magnesium assessment to 4:30 pm London time, to better align with European trading hours.

Assessments affected by this proposal are as follows:

  • Magnesium Dealer Import, delivered US (MMAHQ00)
  • Magnesium Spot Western Production, delivered US (MMAHM00)
  • Magnesium Die Cast Alloy Transaction, delivered US (MMAHR00)
  • Magnesium European Free Market, IW Rotterdam (MMAIZ00)

The assessments are published in Platts Metals Daily, Platts Metals Week Supplement and Platts Metals Alert on fixed page PMA 0368, and in the Platts database under the above-mentioned codes.
