Platts launches Cement CIF Houston price assessment Sep 4

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched a weekly price assessment for Cement CIF Houston, effective Sept. 4, 2025.

The launch of CIF Houston price assessment aims to enhance Platts coverage of cement in the Americas region.

The US is the leading importer of cement globally, with Houston, Texas, being the primary destination for most imports.

In line with market trends in the US, the quality of cement imported to the country is typically classified as Low Alkali. Consequently, the quality specifications to be assessed will be ASTM Type I/II Low Alkali, as noted in the table above.
