Platts updates base loading port nomination standard for Asia LNG cargo assessments

Following market feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated the base load port nomination standard for offers published during its Asia LNG physical Market-On-Close assessment process, effective Sept. 2.

In line with recent industry practice and feedback, Platts will only publish offers with a base loading port stated explicitly during the Platts Market on Close process. This compares to the previous standard, whereby only offers of cargoes for delivery at or less than 45 days from the date of assessment had to state a base loading port.

The decision was published Aug. 5 via a subscriber note available here .

The update applies to the JKM, WIM, MEM and SEAM assessments.
