Following market feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will update the base load port nomination standard for offers published during its Asia LNG physical Market-On-Close assessment process, effective Sept. 2.
In line with recent industry practice and feedback, Platts will only publish offers with a base loading port stated explicitly during the Platts Market on Close process. This compares to the current standard, whereby only offers of cargoes for delivery at or less than 45 days from the date of assessment must state a base loading port.
Platts proposed the change July 16 via a subscriber note available here: https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/071624-platts-proposes-change-in-base-loading-port-nomination-for-asia-lng-cargo-assessments
The update will apply to the JKM, WIM, MEM and SEAM assessments.
Please send feedback and questions to LNGeditorialteam@spglobal.com and pricegroup@spglobal.com.
Platts will consider all comments received and will make comments not marked as confidential available upon request.
