September 01, 2025
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has updated its daily global CFR Indonesia wheat price matrix, effective Sept. 1, 2025.
The changes are summarized below, followed by explanations.
1) Launch of Ukraine 11.5% Wheat CFR Indonesia assessment to the matrix
2) Change in specifications of the EU 11.5% wheat assessment within the matrix
The amendments reflect market feedback, bulk shipment data from trade flow software S&P Global Commodities at Sea and customs data confirming a rebound in Ukrainian milling wheat exports to Indonesia since 2024 to pre-war levels. The inclusion of Ukrainian wheat in the matrix increases the breadth and transparency of delivered prices of milling wheat into Indonesia, one of the largest wheat importers in the world.
Platts has launched a Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia assessment, derived by adding Platts' existing Ukraine Wheat 11.5% FOB Black Sea (WUBSA00) to a calculation of freight costs. It represents Panamax-sized cargoes delivered to Cigading 28 to 42 days forward.
Simultaneously, Platts has amended the assessment description for the EU 11.5% Wheat CFR Indonesia $/mt (ACVBB00) to CVB 11.5% Wheat CFR Indonesia $/mt in line with the underlying FOB assessment used for its calculation. The cargo size has been adjusted from 60,000 mt to 50,000 mt, along with a change of basis port from Constanta to Varna, reflecting the prevalent shipping size and route from this region to Indonesia, with corresponding changes in the freight calculation.
In line with these changes, Platts has added the following symbols to reflect the new calculated Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia wheat assessment and freight calculations:
| Assessment Name | Symbol Code |
| Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia $/mt | UKWCI00 |
| Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia $/mt MAv | UKWCI03 |
| DBF Wheat Chornomorsk Ukraine-Cigading Indonesia 60kt Panamax $/m | GLRTJ00 |
| DBF Wheat Chornomorsk Ukraine-Cigading Indonesia 60kt Panamax $/mt MAvg | GLRTJ03 |
| DBF Grains Varna Bulgaria-Cigading Indonesia Cargo 50kt Supramax $/mt | GLRTH00 |
| DBF Grains Varna Bulgaria-Cigading Indonesia Cargo 50kt Supramax $/mt MAvg | GLRTH03 |
This launch follows a decision note published July 4 and proposal note published June 19.
The Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia assessment follows both Singapore and London publishing calendars, with the assessment listed as NA when there is a public holiday in either/both region(s).
The assessments appears in the Daily Grains Report.
