Platts to amend CFR Indonesia wheat price matrix Sep 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will amend the daily global CFR Indonesia wheat price matrix by (1) adding Ukraine 11.5% Wheat CFR Indonesia assessment to the matrix and (2) updating the specifications of the EU 11.5% wheat assessment within the matrix on Sept. 1.

This decision follows a proposal published June 19, in a subscriber note available here(opens in a new tab).

The Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia assessment will be derived by adding Platts' existing Ukraine Wheat 11.5% FOB Black Sea (WUBSA00) to a calculation of freight costs. It would represent Panamax-sized cargoes delivered to Cigading 28 to 42 days forward.

The following symbols will reflect the new calculated Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia wheat assessment:

UKWCI00 - Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia $/mt

UKWCI03 - Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia $/mt MAvg

The Ukraine Wheat 11.5% CFR Indonesia assessment will follow both Singapore and London publishing calendars, with the assessment listed as NA whenever there is a public holiday in either/both region(s).

In addition, Platts will amend the following existing assessment within the matrix - EU Wheat 11.5% FOB CVB Basis Constanta (ACVBB00 ) as follows:

1. The cargo size will be adjusted from a Panamax to a Supramax, changing from 60,000 mt to 50,000 mt for wheat shipments to Indonesia, with corresponding changes in the freight calculation.
2. The basis port will be revised from Constanta to Varna, aligning the price assessment with the prevalent shipping route to Indonesia.
3. The "EU 11.5%" assessment will be renamed to "CVB 11.5%" for clarity.
