Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, is extending the feedback period on its proposal to add basis ports to its FCA France, FOB Egypt and FOB Algeria granular urea assessments.
Platts now seeks feedback on the below proposed changes until Sept. 27, and would make the changes effective from Jan. 6, 2025.
The changes would add additional specificity to Platts Urea coverage, with the basis ports intended to reflect the most typical discharge locations in each country.
Platts proposes to make the following basis ports to its granular assessments:
Market information related to other loading ports would still be used when reflective of the market and normalized back to the basis ports as appropriate.
Platts initially published this proposal on July 17 in a subscriber note available here:
Please send any feedback, questions and comments to Fertilizer@spglobal.com, and PriceGroup@spglobal.com Sept. 27.
For written comments, please provide a clear indication if comments are not intended for publication by Platts for public viewing.
