Platts refines specifications and increases frequency of four Americas urea assessments July 1
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has refined the specifications for four Americas Granular Urea price assessments, and has also increased the frequency of the same assessments, effective July 1.
Basis market analysis and feedback, the changes will provide a more detailed and up-to-date coverage of the domestic US market.
The changes are summarized as follows:
- Increase in publication frequency from weekly to daily, published from Monday to Friday, for all four assessments
- Change in Quantity from a minimum of 1500 st to 25-250 st, for all four assessments
- Change in Timing from "Product to be shipped up to 30 days forward" to "Loading from 1 to 30 days", for all four assessments
- Change in assessment basis from FOB to FOT for all four assessments
- Rename Urea FOB Tulsa, Oklahoma (FUREJ04) to Urea FOB Inola, Oklahoma, given that most consistent trading activity is reported basis Inola.
- Change in basis location for FOB Twin Cities MN (FUREA04) to reflect St. Paul, rather than reflecting both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
