June 02, 2025
Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, will refine the specifications for four US Granular Urea price assessments in the US, and increase their publication frequency, effective July 1, 2025.
The changes will provide a more detailed and up-to-date coverage of the domestic US market.
Firstly, Platts will rename its current assessment Urea FOB Tulsa, Oklahoma (FUREJ04) to Urea FOB Inola, Oklahoma, given that most consistent trading activity is reported basis Inola. The assessment currently considers discharging ports in both Tulsa and Inola, but going forwards will reflect Inola as the basis location.
Platts will also refine the specifications of its current assessment FOB Twin Cities MN (FUREA04) to reflect St. Paul, which will serve as the basis location, rather than reflecting both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Platts will also change the FOB assessments for Inola (FUREJ04), Twin Cities (FUREA04), St. Louis (FUREI04), and Cincinnati (FURED04) to FOT (Free on Truck) basis, following market analysis and feedback.
Effective July 1, the volumes reflected by the assessments will change to 25-250 st, from a minimum of 1,500 st at present.
Platts will also change the timing of these four assessments. The specifications currently described as "Product to be shipped up to 30 days forward" will be updated to "Loading from 1 to 30 days."
Finally, Platts will increase the publication frequency to daily, published from Monday to Friday.
