Platts proposes to launch CFR Med sulfur assessment; change specifications for several sulfur assessments July 3

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity insights, has decided to launch a CFR Mediterranean crushed lump sulfur spot price along with adjusting the current specifications for multiple sulfur assessments, effective July 3.

This is aimed at adding further granularity to the sulfur coverage in the EMEA region.

The crushed lump price will be assessed as a weekly single-numberassessment. The published price would also reflect a low-high range based on +/-$1/ mt on each end of the single number assessment.

The price will follow the specifications below:

As a result of the above adjustments, the CFR Mediterranean Granular & Crushed Lump, Spot - small lots, ( FSSMA04) will now be assessed as a range assessment with the low and high derived from the single number proposed and the single number assessment for the CFR Mediterranean, Granular, spot - small lots ( FSSMB04) .

For example if FSSMB04 is assessed at $190/mt and new proposed CFR Med crushed lump, spot - small lots at $200/mt; the FSSMA04 would be calculated as a range of $190-$200/mt.

The specifications for FSSMA04 will be aligned to a Quantity of 8,000 mt; Basis location as CFR Mediterranean basis Abu Qir, Egypt; Timing: Product to be delivered two-to-six weeks forward; Basis: Non-Russian origin
