Platts changes the timestamp of its LNG Gulf Coast Marker

S&P Global Platts has changed the assessment timestamp of its LNG Gulf Coast Marker (GCM) to 4:30pm London time effective May 16, 2020.

The Platts GCM™ assessment was previously published each US business day and reflected market values prevailing at the close of US markets at 1:30 pm Houston time.

This decision follows from a decision published April 1 and available here: https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/our-methodology/subscriber-notes/040120-platts-to-change-the-timestamp-of-its-lng-gulf-coast-marker-gcm

This aligns Platts GCM™ assessment with the close of European markets, which have become an increasingly significant outlet for US-loading LNG spot cargoes.

As a component of this change, Platts has also moved the assessment publishing schedule to follow Platts UK publishing calendar.
