Listen: Crude markets across North America watch wildfires in Western Canada

Wildfires are still raging across northern Alberta, and the oil industry is grappling with shut-ins, forces majeures and price effects rippling through markets. Allen Reed, associate editor of Canadian crude oil, talks with Luciano Battistini, managing editor of crude oil, about the status of oil sands production, infrastructure and pipelines as well as how differentials for various crude grades and condensate have reacted. It's estimated that more than a quarter of Western Canada's output has been cut, and Reed also touches on what to watch as the news develops, including how crude from the US could fill demand left in the Chicago area as refiners find themselves without Canadian crude.
