Platts clarifies specifications reflected for US Gulf Coast and US Atlantic Coast LSK, ULSK assessments
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, would like to clarify that its ultra low sulfur kerosene assessments for the US Gulf Coast and US Atlantic Coast reflect Colonial Pipeline's fungible aviation kerosene grade 51 specifications.
ULSK, at max 15 parts per million sulfur, is typically used as low sulfur blendstock to mix with diesel during fall and winter, but also year-round for home space heating, peak power generation units and some East Coast bus transportation systems.
Low sulfur kerosene, or LSK at max 400 ppm, reflects Colonial Pipeline's aviation kerosene grade 55 specifications.
The grades and symbols to which this clarification applies are:
US Gulf Coast
| Assessment | Symbol | Sulfur content |
| Jet Kero 55 USGC Prompt Pipeline | PJABP00 | Max 400 ppm |
| Jet Kero ULS USGC Prompt Pipeline | AAVTL00 | Max 15 ppm |
US Atlantic Coast
Assessment | Symbol | Sulfur content |
| Jet Kero LS New Jersey Buckeye Pipeline | AAJNN00 | Max 400 ppm |
| Jet Kero LS New York Harbor Barge | PJABJ00 | Max 400 ppm |
| Jet Kero ULS New York Harbor Barge | AAVTI00 | Max 15 ppm |
For Midwest, Platts Jet Kero ULS No1 Chicago Pipe assessment (PJACD00) reflects a maximum sulfur limit of 15 ppm.
