Platts will not launch Dutch BRE and ZRE-Other assessments

Platts, a part of S&P Global Energy, will not launch three daily assessments for the inland shipping sector (BRE) and one daily assessment for the maritime sector (ZRE) under its upcoming Netherlands emission reduction units (emissiereductie-eenheden, or ERE) assessments launch, effective Jan. 2, 2026.

This update follows a decision published Sept. 22 following concerns about a lack of market activity related to changing trade flows.

Platts will instead launch six assessments on Jan. 2, 2026:

• LRE-Advanced (LRE-A)
• LRE-Annex IX B (LRE-B)
• LRE-Conventional (LRE-C)
• LRE-Other (LRE-O)
• LRE-Electricity (LRE-E)
• ZRE-Advanced (ZRE-A)

Platts will continue to monitor and review the BRE and ZRE-Other markets, and will announce any changes through the publication of additional subscriber notes.
