Platts to change EU Guarantees of Origin assessments to AIB Guarantees of Origin Jan. 2
Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, will change the specification of its EU Guarantees of Origin price assessments to AIB Guarantees of Origin, effective Jan. 2, 2026.
Platts first proposed to change the specification of its EU GO price assessments to Association of Issuing Bodies GOs on Nov. 3 .
The EU GO assessments currently reflect EU Wind, EU Solar, and EU Biomass. The updated specifications mean that the GO prices will reflect certificates of origin in the AIB member countries that have EECS certification. The AIB aggregates national registry data from each AIB member country.
This change aims to make Platts GO assessments more reflective of the contracts traded in the European market and better define the country-origin of the certificates.
Platts Nordic Hydro assessments will remain unchanged.

Platts symbols for these assessments will remain unchanged.
Each GO represents the environmental attributes of renewable electricity and represents one megawatt hour of electricity generated from renewable sources.
