Platts proposes to change EU Guarantees of Origin assessments to AIB Guarantees of Origin

Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, proposes to change the specification of its EU Guarantees of Origin (GO) price assessments to Association of Issuing Bodies (AIB) Guarantees of Origin (GO), effective Jan. 2, 2026.

The EU GO assessments currently reflect EU Wind, EU Solar, and EU Biomass. Platts proposes to change the specifications, so the prices reflect certificates of origin in the AIB member countries that have European Energy Certificate System (EECS) certification. The AIB aggregates national registry data from each AIB member-country.

This proposed change will make the GO assessments more reflective of the contracts traded in the European market and better define the country-origin of the certificates.

Platts Nordic Hydro assessments will remain unchanged.
