Platts discontinues RD100 Los Angeles, San Francisco premiums from Oct. 1

Platts, part of S&P Global Energy, has discontinued the Renewable Diesel RD100 Los Angeles and San Francisco premiums or spreads to NYMEX ULSD and CARB ULSD, effective Oct. 1.

Platts has seen reduced relevance for the RD100 versus NYMEX ULSD and RD100 versus CARB ULSD premiums. Outright RD100 prices are more often used as a reference price for renewable diesel with credits, such as LCFS and RINs, attached.

RD100 refers to product that is 100% renewable diesel, without any fossil fuel diesel blended in.

The following assessments have been discontinued from Oct. 1:

Assessment Symbol Monthly averages
RD100 LA vs CARB ULSD RAUWG00 RAUWG03
RD100 LA vs NYMEX ULSD AAUWG00 AAUWG03
RD100 SF vs CARB ULSD RAUWI00 RAUWI03

The assessments were published on fixed pages PB0010, PB0011, PB0012, PBF310 and PBF311, as well as in the Platts Biofuelscan and Biomass-Based Diesel Report.

Platts initially proposed this change on June 11 in a subscriber note found here, with the decision published July 23.
